The Adoption Project

Last year, in September our core family group experimented with an adoption project. Several months prior God really pressed on me about some specific geographic areas in our community. These are areas that may be below poverty level, or drug infested areas, apartments, and low income housing. One day I just got in the car and said, “Ok Lord this is your game, take me where I need to go.” Amazingly enough within about an hour He had identified six different areas! Later on, in August I believe, I rolled it out to our core families and they totally loved the idea! They got on board and we did our first community adoption in September.

Country Club Method

For years, if you lived in the South and went to a country club you quickly realized that it was a sterile environment! I mean you were scared to touch anything, had to dress the part, and to be accepted you needed to be a person of means. To be honest, in the rural parts of the south, some of this is still alive today. However, it seems to be more prevalent in the church. With the exception of a very limited few, the “Country Club Church” is alive and well in the rural parts of the south.
